The No. 25 A&M-Commerce Lions, took their second straight victory in conference play on Saturday against the opposing Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas.

The Lions never gave Kingsville much of a chance, taking a dominating eight-point lead early on, showing no signs of slowing down as they won the first set 25-10.

The second set was much more intense, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Lions as they came out on top once again with a 26-24 victory, with a definitive advantage going into the third set.

As it looked like the Lions were going to take the third set easily holding a twelve-point lead, Kingsville made a remarkable effort to come back tying the whole thing up at seventeen, but the Lions managed to hang on to take the third set by a score of 25-20 to complete the sweep.

Standout performers from the victory were Jaryn and Jaslyn Wacker, who combined for 23 kills, and Shelley Chapron who lead all Lions with 6 blocks.

The Lions return to action on Tuesday, September 18th as they host Dallas Baptist University at 6 p.m. The Lions will return to conference play Friday, Sept. 21st as they host Cameron University.
