The men and women’s cross country teams end their 2015 season at the NCAA South Central Regionals meet with no qualifiers for national.
The men’s team finished 16th of 23 teams with an average time of 33:02. The South Central Regional champion was Adam State University for the fourth year. All conference and all region Luis “Ricky” Romero finished 17th individually and was only six place’s shy from receiving a bid to nationals.
The Lions women took 18th with all conference junior Terra Truitt taking 38th individually with the time of 22:47.20.
“We didn’t perform how we hoped to, but individual runs were great,” Truitt said.
“We look forward to the upcoming track season where we expect our distance runners to have a greater impact at the conference level than in previous years,” head coach Ross Smithey said.
