Lion’s Volleyball Fall to the Cameron Aggies

The Lions volleyball team was fresh from a win and faced the Cameron Aggies Nov. 7 but lost the game 3-1.
Set one saw the Lions start off fast bringing the score to 17-10 before the Aggies came back with a five-point run to bring the set to within two. After a back-and-forth effort between both teams, the Aggies led 24-23. With the Lions down by one, Summer Alford took the rest of the set over giving the Lions two strikes along with a kill from Jaslyn Wacker for a 26-24 Lions win.
The second set was all about the Aggies who pulled off a victory despite seven attack errors. The Aggies took the set 25-19. Wacker provided the Lions with three kills and a block to give some hope.
In set three, the Lions came out rejuvenated with a 5-0 run but the Aggies didn’t let up eventually tying at 6-6. The set went back and forth until the score was 24-23 following a kill from Bina Njikam. The Lions seemed to be in a good position until two kills from Jenna Gillean and Jordan Williams gave the Aggies a 1-point advantage. A Lion attack error gave the set to the Aggies 26-24.
The fourth and final set was a slug fest that had 11 ties and six lead changes. The Aggies secured the set after a performance by Paige Dixon who led the Aggies with four kills. Summer Alford led the Lions with five kills, and 15 for the night. Neka Nelson and Jaslyn Wacker also gave good contributions finding the floor three times each.
