Tim McMurray was announced as the new Athletic Director at Texas A&M University-Commerce by President Dan Jones at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, Oct. 1 at the Rayburn Student Center in front of an audience made up of student athletes, university staff and alumni, filling the position left vacant after Ryan Ivey’s resignation on Aug. 4.

“Ryan blazed a trail here and, metaphorically, we’re not having to build a track,” McMurry said. “We’re taking the baton, and running with it on a foundation that he has laid.”
