A&M-Commerce names final four Director of Athletics candidates

President Jones has announced the final four candidates to replace Ryan Ivey as the Director of Athletics of A&M-Commerce. The interview process will now begin to narrow these four down to the eventual final choice with a series of open sessions that will also be available via live stream by the athletics department.The candidates are as follows:

 

Tim McMurray – McMurray is currently the CEO of Rainmakers 123 LLC, an athletic consulting company. McMrray has more than 25 years in Athletic Administration. He recently served as the Senior Associate Athletics Director and Executive Director of the Terrapin Club at the University of Maryland. He spend three seasons as the Associate Athletics Director – Development and External Affairs/Director of the Mustang Club at Southern Methodist University. He also holds senior administrator experience from Northern Illinois, Lamar and Texas State. McMurray brings a plethora of athletic administration to the table with leadership in a variety of roles. McMurray holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Lamar University and a master’s degree in business administration from Ohio University. His open session will take place in the Traditions room in the Rayburn Student Center at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15.

 

Chris Ratcliff – Ratcliff is currently the Director of Athletics at the University of Arkansas-Monticello where he has been at the helm of Weevils athletics since 2009. He has been instrumental in the growth and enhancements of the department’s facilities. He has also overseen the restructuring of the athletics department personnel. Prior to his appointment as Director of Athletics, Ratcliff spent five successful seasons as the head coach of the women’s basketball team. Ratcliff holds a bachelor’s degree in sports and community management in parks and recreations and a master’s degree in sports administration from Henderson State. His open session will be held in the Traditions meeting room in the Rayburn Student Center at 2:30  p.m. on September 16.

 

Matt Jones – Jones is currently the Senior Associate Athletic Director at Delta State University. In his current role, he oversees the External Relations office and serves as the lead fundraiser for The Statesman Club. Jones has held his position within the Statesman’s athletic department since 2004. Jones also serves as the Statesman’s football administrator handling game scheduling and contracts, as well as managing the game-day operations for all sporting events. Jones holds a bachelor’s in education and a master’s degree in sociology from Delta State. He’ll be interviewed in Conference Room C in the Rayburn Student Center at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 26.

 

Daron Montgomery – Montgomery is currently the director of Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he has spent the past four seasons. He has 17 years of athletic administration under his belt at the NCAA Division 1 level and the Division III level. He currently oversees the Pointers 20 varsity sports and 500 student-atheletes. Montgomery holds a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Lenoir-Rhyne and a master’s degree in athletic administration from Ball State. Montgomery will be open to the public on Friday, September 25 in the Traditions room in the Rayburn Student Çenter.
